“When you are overwhelmed by life, try to take it day by day, try not to think further than today..one day..small steps..all you need to do is get through that one day”

Calming Tip
On Letting Go
“You did the best you could with what you knew at the time. Don’t let new wisdom lead you to condemn yourself over old struggles. Forgive yourself and move forward”

The first step in relaxation is noticing. Notice your shoulders, notice your grip and I find the most telling is to notice your bite and how tightly your jaw feels.
After noticing take a few slow breaths in (4 seconds) , hold your breath (4 seconds) and slowly breath out (4 seconds) then hold again (4 seconds).
Try to do a few rounds, as much as you feel comfortable with.
Now after you finish your breathing rounds, notice your shoulders, your grip, your bite. Slowly tension will be released, the intelligence of our bodies will take care of the rest.

Our Strength Tip
To view this exercise please visit our Instagram account @ Tawazunnn, we posted it this month as well as some other strength and mobility exercises.
Your core strength is extremely important and we can lose it over time, especially given our modern life styles.
This core exercise is very simple, it is also part of an activity that we all do daily, several times a day without noticing.
This exercise is where you take a seating position either on the floor resting on bent knees or while sitting on a chair.
Simply lift up as if you are about to stand but without supporting yourself with your arms. If you feel you need support from your arms that is ok take it slow.
By simply sitting up and sitting back down again without assistance for 15-20 reps or as much as you can do at first, engages your core. Think about how you are sitting up and sitting down so that it is intentional in engaging your core.
Try to repeat these daily or several times a day. With time you should start to feel a bit stronger. If you would like to add extra strength try holding onto weights in your hands while performing the exercise.
KEEP MOVING AND STAY STRONG
